Post Buell XB12X with D300 Reply with quote
I have been shooting primarily with my D3's for some time. Today I went for a ride on a bike I am doing a story on and decided to bring the D300 instead of the much larger D3. I was just riding around town stopping to see friends, doing some urban assault. I went through a few downtown parking garages and stopped in this one to do a pic of the Buell.

When I got back and processed the pic, I was amazed at how much more grain the photo had at ISO-800 than my D3. It just reminding me that I am spoiled on the D3 now and not very happy with the D300. I need a smaller camera for carrying around on the bike, but I am now thinking I will trade in the D300 for a D700 instead. Anyone interested in a very lightly used D300?

Forget the D700 - get a D4.1

Hadn't thought much about it. What are they worth? Thinking maybe $950? I have used it every little since my primary camera is the D3. I did drop it right after I got it and broke the CF card door. Had Epperson fix it for me. Everything works great and still have the box.

Yea, I would still sell it. I also have 18-200 lens I would also sell with it or by itself if anyone is interested. I have decided it is just not fast enough for what I do. All my pro lenses are much faster. I got this lens as a walk around small lens. It is not that small, and it is way too slow for me. I just shot with it last night with the D300 in low light and that lens on the D300 is just not fast enough when compared to my D3 at ISO 6400 with an F2.8 lens. I am spoiled. Embarassed

Have you sold that D300 yet? Do you have a battery grip with it and all that came in the box?
